Words Are Weapons hosted a Grime Clash recently in Scunthorpe, between Butchaman from Manchester and Jakus from Bradford. Both seemed to bounce off of each other with the vibes from the off, as Butchaman went up first in an excellent clash that saw both going on rowdy, trying to get the upper hand with the pars and punchlines. Butchaman delivered some outrageously disgusting pars towards Jakus, saying he lives on a farm and that he sniffs thongs, calling him a dog rapist, and labeling Jakus’ girl a ‘jezzy’. Jakus didn’t really have much of significance to this clash, apart from talking about Butchaman’s girl having a pum pum larger than the tardis, looking butcher than he, and looking like Pat Butcher. He also referred to Butchaman’s girl looking like Skepta which got a fair bit of reaction from the crowd. Butchaman came hot with the punchlines and was nice with the metaphors, he also had some deadly clash bars to spin Jakus, but which were not unique to the clash. In round 2 though, Butchaman took to dissing the Bradford scene, and pleaded with Leejay to stop feeding Jakus ‘shit’ about being sick, but the ultimate diss came when he displayed superior and great delivery, throwing in comical fx in to a ludicrous diss. Jakus had some moments in which he got the crowd rowdy, like when he showcased some terrific, tongue-twisting, rapid spitting, and in round 3 he stated Butchaman looking like a character from ‘Despicable Me’, and ending on a high by noting Butchaman racist, right down to his hairline. Overall, in my opinion, Butchaman took the win in this clash, he had more hilarious punchlines that were direct to Jakus, whilst Jakus struggled to deliver on the punchlines, where as his main strength was highlighting ‘truths’ about his opponent, but that doesn’t take away from him the effort he did put in to the battle, and anyone else, he may have been triumphant.
