Gemma Fox – Grime Vocals Archive

Aftershock’s leading lady and Singer/Songwriter Gemma Fox returns with her new project, Grime Vocals Archive, featuring previously unheard, unreleased and released material, extracted from the vaults for your listening pleasure.

Classic tracks featured on the project include ‘Highly Flammable’ and ‘Messy’, with features from some of grime’s heavyweights, Lethal Bizzle, JME, Dutty Goodz, Ears, Tinchy Stryder, Tnt, Davinche, Menta, Heartless Crew and Sweetie Irie.

Commenting on the impact she’s made, legendary Grime pioneer DJ Logan Sama stated, ‘With the resurgence in original Grime recently, it would not be fair to overlook the vocalists who’s voices added a sweet contrast to the rough bars during the earliest days of the genre. You cannot talk about Grime vocalists without hailing up Gemma Fox who’s earliest works alongside groundbreaking producers such as Youngsta, Alias, Dexplicit and TNT. It takes a special skill to be able to sound at home over the type of aggressive and energetic riddims you found in Grime between 2002 and 2004. Gemma had that in abundance.’

Gemma Fox made her big break on the music scene in the mid-noughties as a Singer/Songwriter, and after releasing her first project of 2018 in the form of Grime Vocals Archive, she is now warming up to release a Niche EP, slated to be released in the next few weeks, so there are big things coming in the future from Gemma!

Grime Vocals Archive captures Gemma’s appreciation for the scene that she was a big part of in the genre’s early days, as well as giving the world a reminder or taster even of the wide range of her singing and songwriting versatility.

The EP is available now on all digital stores including iTunes, Spotify and Amazon amongst others.
