Very few can match the consistency and quality that Manga always applies to his creativity, bringing with him his own distinguishable and unique style and sound to Grime. He has just recently released a brand new single called ‘Finding Out’, a self-produced track which follows up a busy couple of years, this year alone producing many singles as well as two projects (‘Future Deluxe’ and ‘Glow In The Dark’). This year may be coming to an end but Manga’s productivity does not.
‘Finding Out’ is a track that highlights, or rather reminds us of as is no question, Manga’s multi-faceted artistry, taking to his own production, a blend of Grime and Drill-tinged vibes, Manga intertwines pacy flows and introspective lyrics on a piano-led melody. Manga takes you on a journey of self-discovery, taking an inward look at himself and his emotional responses to situations down the years, from reminiscent bars about his formative years up until now, learning more about himself along the way, and sharing with us listeners the lessons he has picked up to better himself. Manga shows great versatility, providing a chorus comprising of melodic vocals, between energetic verses, that compliment the mellow mood of the track.
‘Finding Out’ has been well received since it’s release, with Spotify adding the single to their ‘New Music Friday’, ‘Rap UK’ and ‘Solid Gold’ playlists. The track has also been playlisted by Keepin It Grimy, YouTube’s ‘Grime Hotlist’ and Apple Music’s ‘New Fire’ playlists.
Manga is unquestionably a pioneer of the Grime scene, with some impressive accolades that include national radio support from the likes of Sir Spyro and DJ Target, as well as 4 sold out shows, a MOBO nomination for ‘Best Grime Act’ and an ever-growing fanbase that spans both the UK and globally.
Since following the solo path some years ago now, after a decade in Roll Deep Crew, Manga has gradually perfected his own style and sound, carving out his own lane, as a true lyricist with incredible technique, rapid flows, inadvertently providing us listeners with music therapy, and introspective lyricism that explores spirituality, mental health and well-being, sharing his wisdom with us. Manga can then be seen popping up at many Grime sets, such as DJ Jedah’s recent Pyro Radio show, where Manga joined some elite barrers to leng down many a Grime beat, providing many wheel-up moments. Manga champions Grime through his music and production, whilst also capable of showing his multi-dimensional artistry.
