Melisa Whiskey – Played

‘Played’ is the first single from UK R&B Singer/Songwriter Melisa Whiskey’s debut EP, which was recently premiered via Singersroom the mecca for R&B fans. Having vocalled tracks fro House legend Roger Sanchez (Searching), and Dance Producer Redlight (Threshold), Melisa is no stranger to the music industry, and now steps out on her own with her beautiful, soulful music. ‘Played’ oozes soul and emotion, as Melisa provides smooth and velvety tones to this rousing introduction, a reflection of a relationship. Just as in most of her releases, Melisa may come across as vulnerable yet the flip side to the coin is her ability to seem powerful and strong, in her voice especially and the lyrics which resonate. Melisa Whiskey is influenced by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Sade and Amy Winehouse, even drawing comparisons with her voice to Jess Glynne.
‘Played’ is the first single off of Melisa Whiskey’s debut EP due out in early 2017, the first release on her own label Whiskey Music. The song displays her talent as both a writer and singer, and it is even more remarkable for the fact that she is moving independently.
