Woolwich Grime emcee and W.A.V.E member Snoopa has returned with the Wiley EP, presented by Risky Roadz, and produced by Wiley. Paying homage to the Godfather of Grime, Snoopa goes in on five Wiley-produced beats rich in energetic, twisting, synth-bass and distincitve, legendary, ringtone-style, panpipe flute synths. Snoopa’s lyrical style is a nod to Wiley, as complex as Eski Boy’s were and are, whilst his flows and delivery are as brash and bold and hype. As anthemic as Wiley, this is exemplified in such tracks as lead track ‘No Long’, ‘Wickedest Style’ and ‘Flow Madman’, whilst ‘Born On My Own’ is a brilliant showcase of songwriting that is introspective of Snoopa’s pain and struggle on his ones coming from his ends.
A fitting name for the EP, it seems Wiley himself has given approval to Snoopa, with the project epitomizing and paying homage to the overall sound of Wiley, the Godfather, a pioneer, a legend in the Grime scene. Watch the visual for ‘No Long’ via Risky Roadz, and download the Wiley EP below.
Not only is Snoopa a member of the W.A.V.E collective, the LOTM X Rinse Champ is a member of the Grm Skl collective, a pukka Graphics designer for both collectives and Link Up TV in addition, of which he also serves their Web Graphic Designer, all whilst acting as CEO and acting Director of Grime Dealer. Hoping the consistency, hard graft and sheer talents of Snoopa pay off in the remainder of the year.
