British/Caribbean artist RizzyB returned in the past week, following on from the success of his previous single release ‘Weh Ya Deh’, with the latest drop ‘Park Up’. Produced by Jamaican born music producer Wizical, the single is a homage to RizzyB’s Caribbean heritage, with Rizzy taking to a smooth, mellow production that is a sonically pleasing fusion of R&B and Dancehall, with a tinge of Afroswing. RizzyB displays his signature smooth style and presence, captivating his listeners by intertwining melodic vocals and rap verses delivered with much confidence and charisma.
RizzyB opted not to produce an official music video, but rather employ a team of creatives to contribute their natural gifts via an intriguing freestyle video, blending an intimate ‘behind the scenes’ montage with glossy visuals that see him vibsing with his date and love interest, taking her on a warm and cozy rendezvous, enjoying the night life and riding around town in a convertible. Rizzy coined the term ‘Anatural’, a mantra that he applies not just in his approach to music, but to life in general.
In RizzyB’s own words, “I believe your true self is your most powerful, as I was going through the toughest time of my life, the love of music and the belief in my mission helped me remain strong and focused, feeling free spirit, I shot the freestyle with the team and edited the video keeping it natural to give a clear picture of the process, I had so much fun with dkabs, Tan and Keanu, creating authentic content for you guys, allowing all our natural gifts to shine through!”
Rizzy also wrote and performed ‘Free Spirit Freestyle’ which showcases his lyrical ability and striking artist presence, recruiting photographer Keanu Reeves, director Tan Wright and model Dkabs to come together and capture press shots for the artwork of the single. This is undoubtedly a unique merging of talented individuals, resulting in a warm and genuine visual masterpiece to be admired.
RizzyB was born and raised in Waltham Forest, East London, and is a rising star that has continuously staked a claim as one to watch within the current UK scene. His artistic range has no boundaries, as Rizzy grew up surrounded by an abundance of differing genres and sounds. Since the age of 9, he has been deeply engaged in music, listening religiously on a Walkman that he received as a gift.
Notable achievements include Rizzy’s single ‘Feeling Waved’ racking up over 150k streams across all streaming platforms, as well as track ‘My One’ being added to the official Spotify ‘Afro/Bashment’ and ‘We Move’ playlists.
Rizzy’s most recent project ‘Players Love Cycle’, which he dropped on Valentines Day earlier this year, also received recognition from BBC 1Xtra presenter Remi Burgz, as well as radio play on KISS FM, Capital Xtra, Trickstar Radio and Flex FM.
With the accolades to show for his undoubted talent, commitment, passion and desire, RizzyB’s trajectory to the top is heading in the right direction. Check out the visuals for ‘Free Spirit Freestyle/Park Up’ below and leave us your feedback in the comments section.
