From 6th Floor Recordz comes this first EP release from Producer 6th Floor entitled “The Arrival”. The idea stemmed from 6th Floor having loads of beats just sat there doing nothing, so he sent them out to artists to feature on this new Hip Hop compilation. The EP features the likes of Big Cakes, Shox The Rebel, Lemzi, Shakezpeare and many more. From positive, motivational and inspirational Boom Bap, Big Cakes’ ‘Keep It Going’, to blazing Rap bangers like Shox The Rebel’s ‘Spit Game’, there is a mixed range covering different Hip Hop styles. N-Hance and Ras Boops come together on ‘We Are What We Are’, fusing Hip Hop and Reggae for another positive track with a message to those listening to embrace who they are. N-Hance’s delivery is rough and rugged and sometimes rapid flowing. Shakezpeare’s ‘Fear Is A Factor’ is a haunting track, the production is creepy and filled with ghoulish samples and trickling keys. Over the Boom Bap beat, Shakezpeare sprays gritty, gory lyrics fit for such a scary song. This one reminds me of the likes of Wu-Tang for it’s rawness and The Fugees to name a few. American Rapper Zant features on the EP with a Trap-style banger called ‘Mind Over Matter’. As well as Hip Hop, L Camz’ ‘Without You’ introduces some soul, and Lou La Belle and Becki Yates who are both somewhat Alternative Pop artists, nevertheless seeming that way because of the style of R&B production from 6th Floor.
