88 Killa – MPH [88 Karats EP]
Introducing 88 Killa, one of the founding members of Hip Hop collective, the Brain Gang Misfits, based in Dallas bringing with them a new “Dallas Sound”. 88 Killa, whose collective also includes Justus, new Aftermath label signee that appeared on Dr. Dre’s Compton soundtrack, is set to release his debut EP ’88 Karats’ on 11th December, which features fellow Brain Gang members; female rapper Sam Lao, producers Ish D and Blue The Misfit as well as Erykah Badu’s The Cannabidnoids member, Picnictyme. ‘MPH’ is the first single from the EP to revealed, which along with the EP, is released via DEFDISCO. The track is produced by X the Misfit, and is a bass-laden, heavily synthesized futuristic trap banger, the song’s lyrics expressing 88 Killa’s desire to stack a million, never one to settle for a life of poverty. 88 Killa also oozes confidence as he boasts of his superior skills compared to the competition. 88 Killa showcases great wordplay skills, his flow and delivery is heavy dropping and with a southern swagger suitable for this type of production.
