Jay Carteré recently released an impressive visual enhancement to accompany his new single ‘Drug Music’, filmed by his own company CoolCut Films. Following on from last year, in which he experimented and found appreciation for different genres as he dabbled in UK Dance, Rapper Jay rhymes over his own Hip Hop production which is being described as ‘simplistic’, and crosses over to the Trap genre, with a booming 808 Bass and infectious percussion made up of pronounced claps and snares. Jay is the man as he becomes a drug selling character, conveying his tolerance with certain guys, emphasizing that he has what ever his customers desire, and also rhymes about his constant grind and the profits he makes from the Trap. Whilst the lyrics may seem simplistic also, the track does however showcase Jay Carteré’s songwriting skills, as well as his strong flow and delivery. This track puts Jay up there with some of the best Rappers at present, with similar sounds, as this track is as strong, quality and crispy sounding as any. Stylistically, the visuals are abstract and trippy, which is owed in part to the eye catching, awesome effects used, and unorthodox, energetic shots which are anything but static, making the visual experience all the more captivating and intriguing.
