Nottingham Producer Lyrikz Beatz, who has many credits to his name including Dru Blu, Kriptik, Shadow, Garton plus many more, delvers a free beat tape called ‘No More Free Beatz’, a nod to the fact that this is his last free release. The Ep features five banging Trap beats at 140 bpm, with my particular favourites being ‘Careless’, on which Lyrikz mixes a booming bassline with Trance production, creating a unique beat full of energy. ‘Return From The Past’ is an epic, gladiator-type, fighter production, with Lyrikz holdng back on the bass, yet adding vocal sfx. One of the elements that that the other beats have in common is the tingling, creepy piano keys that Lyrikz adds over the beastly bass, with the snares and hi-hats which are prominent. Lyrikz displays great production skills, putting up there as an accomplished Trap producer, yet he is able to switch it up a bit with varying instrumentals which think outside the box, hence ‘Careless’.
