LEMZI – (NO PLACE LIKE HOME)
London Rapper Lemzi unveiled a music video for a new track called ‘No Place Like Home’, produced by Blazo and taken from his forthcoming mixtape ‘LFV:IV A Few Words (All For Won)’ out soon. Lemzi spins a tail of a broken home, depicting not only in the lyrics but in the video, the relationship between a father, mother and their son. Stemming from before birth, a father who was an alcoholic and abusive husband, a mother whom is most probably scared even though she is portrayed as loving the father much more, choosing him over her own son whom is shown to been made a product of his own surroundings and upbringings, dealing with the sadness, anger and frustration, feeling like he has to step up and protect his own mother, only for the whole story to end tragically and violently, with the cycle repeating itself. Lemzi delivers an emotional story, dealing with his own introspective thoughts, and his own perspective of some of society’s dysfunctional families. Check out the disheartening yet creative and realistic track, as well as the artistic but disturbing and realistic visuals, starring compelling acting by David ‘Gambit Ace’ Bonnick, Andrew Abasi and Charmaine Hamly, filmed and directed by Samiira Garane.
