TNGR’s Ben Ridley unveiled yet another track recently called ‘FOR THE GODS’, produced by by fellow TNGR artist/producer Cyrus, and even though it is not taken from the forthcoming ‘THINGS I’VE BEEN WANTING TO TELL YOU’, it is part a series entitled #CanYouSeeIt, along with previously released tracks ‘SuperLoner’ and ‘TheField’. With all three tracks varying in subject matter, they combine in to a fully fledged journey in to the introspective mind of Ben. The track, which is described as “cool and highly spiritual feeling”, Ben, who is an accomplished song writer and skilful metaphorical lyricist, expresses his beliefs in all human beings, though “kind of blindly finding our way through life”, having “immense power and potential” within us on a God level to achieve. Another theme that Ben explores on the track is the whole community’s collective self-image, as he delivers one powerful line as follows, “with my hoodie up I think I look like Jesus Christ”, which Ben says “I want to gas the listener up to see him/herself in a certain way, because when they create those perfect public figures: superheroes, celebs and all of that; it’s not often we can see ourselves in them.” In a production by Cyrus with two parts effectively, one part features soothing vocals from singer Abigail Kwakye with Ben delivering gruff vocals over a tranquil, tingling instrumental with a lot of pronounced percussion, with Ben dropping rhythmic flows with a bounce on the second part which Cyrus comes with a hard hitting, bass heavy beat.
