North West London and USG Rapper Squingy released a brand new video recently for a track called ‘Cloudy Skies’, the title track taken from the LP of the same name. Filmed by Wkd Films, the visuals symbolise, with black and white effect, save for a few colours of warmth, the message of the lyrics in which Squingy feels that he has cloudy skies looming over him, stating that ever since his birth he has been burdened by heartache and danger which brings around visions of his death, and Squingy turns social commentator as he denotes the criminalised communities around the world, sometimes coming from broken homes, souls with no hopes. Squingy’s delivery seeps sadness and emotion as he rhymes over the acoustic Hip Hop instrumental, with the singer on the hook bringing an urban feel to the song. The video’s directorial display does well to showcase two parallel journeys to the same place, with certain locations and items that clarify that they going to the same place, with the ending seeming to bring happiness.
