Kid Bracer – KidOnTheBlock (EP)

Rising London Hip Hop artist Kid Bracer finally unveiled his long anticipated EP ‘KidOnTheBlock’. Kid Bracer embraces a range of different Hip Hop styles on this project, favouring production from J Correa, but yet featuring production credits from the likes of Giant Killa, E Jacobs, Hamid Rahmane, Freddie Joachim & Slakah The Beat Child. The Ep opens with ‘Dreams & Reailty’ featuring Singer Wadè, the pair deliver a soulful and funky banger over E Jacobs’ boom-bap style Hip Hop beat that has a West Coast vibe and R&B sound thanks to Wadè’s superb singing talents on the hook. The lyrics depict Kid Bracer’s battle with facing up to reality but yet achieving his dreams. Kid Bracer keeps up the chilled out Hip Hop vibes through ‘Icebreaker’ and ‘Like Me’, both featuring smooth singing vocals from Jordan James and Elijah Melo respectively, as Bracer touches upon the subjects of women and love, and on the latter of the two, he radiates confidence and boasts of his talent. ‘I’m Up’ produced by J Correa is a trapesque, bass-rich banger on which Kid Bracer deliver slick bars expressing how big he and his squad be doing in the music biz and when it comes to grinding and stacking. Kid Bracer’s flow is strong and on point, seeming to be rapping rapidly, alternating between speeds. Likewise for ‘Jordan Wings’, another Trap banger, and Bracer even delivers an infectious chorus, a metaphor for Kid Bracer staying fly. The final track on the Ep is entitled ‘Blessed’ and features La Swave and production from J Correa for a second time, and both rappers rhyme on a bass-rattling beat, humbly counting their blessings for their lifestyle and skills they were gifted with.

Kid Bracer mixes up some old school Hip Hop flava with some brand new turnt up trap bangers here, and allows for Kid Bracer to display his rhyming skills, flow and delivery which in my opinion is quite unique as far as UK Rap comes in to it, and he covers a few themes on the Ep, mostly expressing his hunger to succeed as a musician and get paid from his endeavours.
