KBU artist Murkerz is back with his new release, the ‘Dead Snow’ E.P, featuring five tracks, and which further elaborate his unique concepts, particularly conveying and depicting his dark mind-set. There are certain tracks that reference demons, the devil and murder scenes, such as ‘Third Person’, produced by GunLock-Beats, and which sees Murkz portray his dark mentality in his lyrics, turning serial killer on the track. ‘Sixth Day’ makes a subtle reference to the devil and the number of the beast as Murkerz stresses that he has released six tracks in six days. Murkerz reminds us on this track of his capability to spring fear and retribution on his enemies. ‘Vampire’ makes reference to Busta Rhymes as Murkz states it is flipmode time, maybe to sky mc’s and he also talks of walking in the darkness like a vampire, avoiding day. ‘Aimable’ also continues Murkerz’ concept, emphasizing on the hook that any target is aimable.
Murkerz style is dark and grimy, and his concepts for each track tie in well and are rather intriguing. Murkz seems to sometimes place himself in the role of a killer, yet metaphorically, maybe it is his lyrics that he uses against rival mc’s, either that or he is creatively releasing his anger in the form of art and music, delivering vivid descriptions in his lyrics. The production on the mixtape is heavily influenced by Grime and Trap, with much of the production being sauntering and chilling, owing to the haunting, horrorcore style that Murkerz is portraying n his music.
