UK Hip Hop lyricist Imma continued his extensive series of mixtape releases, as he released his fourth project, ‘Just Happened’, back last month. The mixtape features such tracks as the blazing production ‘Physical Lyrical’, with Imma employing forceful delivery, spitting with conviction. ‘Try and Compete’, an open invitation to budding rappers to test him, Imma raps over a hard hitting beat spitting lyrical imagery, expressing his passion for music and his dislike for wack lyricists. Imma remixes Trae tha Truth’s Smile on ‘Cold Smile’, expressing his hate for certain people and their ways, delivering harsh lyrics and profane bars that get across his anger. A different track from Imma is ‘Top Deck Session’ which features Imma spitting over a banging, bass-orientated rap instrumental, spraying lyrics that emphasize Imma’s desire reach as high as possible, inviting the listener on a journey to where you may even see spaceships. Imma keeps his guest features to a minimum, with only three tracks with guest spots. ‘Dangerous Perfectionist’ features Misfit, as he lays out his intentions regarding music and his aspirations, and also delving in to personal issues in his life. Imma delivers an outpour of bars that convey his emotions and views. The two rappers spit bars over a melancholy, piano-led melody. DVG features on ‘Tusks Trunks Plus Trucks’, whilst Flowtecs joins Imma on ‘Bring It’. ‘Bring It’ is yet another remix, this time of Terror Squad’s track of the same name. Imma gives you yet another great mixtape effort, continuing to display a unique style of rhyming that is unmatched by many in the UK Rap scene at present. Imma is able to deliver lyrical imagery with highly lyrical wordplay and his bars and flows mixed together can be impacting.
