Pilot The Rhymer releases his long awaited mixtape ‘Unscripted’, which features varied production from Hip Hop to Trap to R&B/Soul. The London lyricist puts his extensive lyrical vocabulary on display on this mixtape, from the outset, on the intro he displays what he is about lyrically. Through out the mixtape, Pilot delivers introspective rhymes that give you an insight in to his life as an artist, and on tracks like ‘Drama’, spitting about his outlook on life and lessons learnt. Man Like Nells features on a few of tracks, the first being ‘Im Waved’. The two spray bars over a bass-heavy, trap-style beat, both delivering bars about smoking weed. Another track is entitled ‘Real Shit’ is the complete opposite vibe of the previous. The two lyricists take to a smooth yet hard-hitting R&B-style beat, both dropping nothing but the realness as they teach to embrace the positive rather than focus on the negatives in life. Pilot The Rhymer showcases his story-telling talent on ‘Cletus’ which depicts the dynamic and growing relationship between two guys, with hindsight leaving nothing but regrets but space to make changes to a messed up past. ‘Feel Alright’ samples Make You Feel by Alina Baraz and Galimatias, slightly refixing the original production in to a fast-paced Hip Hop beat, to which Pilot displays terrific, rapid flows and unique and captivating delivery. Pilot takes to a dark and moody trap beat for ’11:11′, the lyrics addressing discrimination and hate amongst other things, also displaying his wordplay skills. ‘Unknown’ is another track released from the mixtape, and over yet another dark trap beat, the lyrics illustrating the dark times Pilot has gone through and the scars he has obtained, turning him in to a restless and careless person. ‘My Ride Or Die’ features both brilliant production, infectious tribal melody and drum-heavy beat, and fantastic lyrics in which Pilot emphasizes the need for improvement no matter how advanced you are in your craft, and he slips in to rapping about that one woman demands all that he can give and more. ‘I Go Hard’ is last but not least on the mixtape and features both Pilot The Rhymer and Man Like Nells going beast with the lyricism packed with some slick wordplay. A heavy-hitting Trap banger, without a doubt both rappers went hard on this one.
