UK Producer Walkz, from Tottenham, North London, recently kicked off a brand new weekly beat making series, Sample Walkthrough, letting you take a closer look at his style of production, as he chooses and chops a sample. Episode 1 saw Walkz create a beat with a sample that instantly appealed to him, putting him in mind of classic Boom Bap Nas type beats. Episode 2 sees him use a sample that’s moulded into a trademark Wale type beat. From the calm and chilled vibes of the old school sounding Boom Bap instrumental called ‘Central’, to the R&B Rap style beat ‘Pressure’, consisting of a heavy bass kick and crisp percussion makes for a perfect fit for any MMG artist to cook up a banger.
