Kelvyn Colt: “I wrote the song in my dorm room, after my first year in England. At the time I couldn’t cover my fees anymore, was alone most of the time or working, hardly having time for music, even though that was what I came for. So I started pondering about what I had left behind. I missed my home, Germany, my crew and my girl especially. I realized that things won’t be the same, even if I gave up now and came back. You may never know if you are trading diamonds for gold.”

‘Traded For You’ is the first taste of German/Nigerian-born, London-residing Rapper Kelvyn Colt’s forthcoming EP. Kelvyn’s debut independent release charted for 10 weeks on the German VIVA Black Charts reaching number 18, which resulted in him opening for the likes of Ace Hood (Germany), Adam Tensta (Germany) and has gained an endorsement from Monster Products (Germany). Aiming for a further increase in international exposure, Kelvyn Colt has relocated to London, already opening for Tim Westwood and has been doing various shows at DSTRK and The Box. Working on new music currently, this Jumpa-produced track is a hard-edged trap banger displaying Kelvyn’s rough, uncut and hard hitting style, as he kicks rhymes over the atmospheric beat, talking about how he has been left with bitter feelings after having put it all on the line for someone, and exceeding all expectations when they are stacked up against you. Kelvyn Colt delivers a lyrical display that channels pain, heartache and emotion in to the track. Kelvyn, signed to Beyond Your Sense Music, is working with an impressive list of producers including US producer Purpdogg (Drake feat Soulja Boy – We Made It), Cubeatz (Drake, Meek Mill ), OZ (Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Drake, Travis Scott ) Jumpa ( Sony ATV writer and producer), Abaz (Warner Brothers multi platinum producer of Young Thug, Booba – a French rap icon), Robot Koch (electronic music legend, part of red bull music academy), Sugayboy & Hyperfine and Deadrabbit (German producer icon).
