UK Hip Hop Lyricist IriS Etsi has just dropped a three track EP “ Crème Brûlée”. Just for a three track project, there is a range from this artist in terms of sound. ‘Hello High’ features IriS laying down calming flows over acoustic guitar strings, soft, mellow and melancholy. An introduction to IriS through bars that take you back to her start in life, and she paints a picture of the pain and stress in her life from school age, experiences in love and her pursuit of dreams and getting by just like so many of us can relate to.
‘Just Dance’ has an urban twist, as IriS spits on an up-tempo, chopped up beat that is a fusion of R&B and Hip Hop. IriS displays fast flows on this tune, IriS takes a no nonsense attitude in her lyrical stance here, expressing her urge to get to where she is heading, whether it is a one way to ticket to heaven or Disney Land, or taking her music more seriously than her music counterparts due to a need for change in her life, for the better. ‘Lemonade’ is straight fire from IriS, and she flexes her wordplay skills too. She takes to a bass-heavy rap beat, dropping some clever metaphors and punchlines, and the chorus drills home the fact that she is a bad girl. The lyrics convey the hood mentality that she has developed due to coming from the bits.
