Herbal T has landed with his new album release IMMACULATE POET, a poetic offering to the listeners, which was dropped on 2nd November, marking the coronation of Haile Selassie I, King Of Ethiopia. The album is a raw hip hop teaching of the history of the Rastafari Emperor, provided by Herbal T whose rhymes are grand in nature and lyrical content, filled with intricate rhymes that illustrate street knowledge and culture. IMMACULATE POET is the journey of a warrior to a king/emperor for Herbal T, which reflects the life of Haile Selassie I, and his lyrics encompass the teachings of the Emperor, but from the eyes and mind of Herbz, a young man from London. Many teachings that Herbal T carries with him as he rhymes about the ghettos and it’s trappings are based on intellectual topics such as peace, unity, body, soul and mind, and spirituality, with wealth coming from success.
The sound recording of the album is lofi, raw and edgy in sound, likened to the music of Wu-Tang, with soulful sampling. The setting for many of songs and lyrics from Herbal T is the city of London and West LDN, depicted as a time in history when Emperors and Warriors roam, engaging in battle or fighting to survive.
