Davinche, Scorcher, Ghetts, Mercston, Sam Sure – Powers

Taken from the forthcoming #POWERS album by pioneering Grime producer Davinche comes the title track ‘Powers’ featuring The Movement members Scorcher, Ghetts and Mercston as well as Singer Sam Sure and Mikill Pane. A grand and powerful gospel-influenced track featuring three emcee’s shredding through the rumbling bass line and piano keys, the song is a tale of the gritty streets that the trio hail from and the hustle that they may have undertook to make a living. Mikill Pane features at the start of the video with a sermon of sorts in which he educates the listeners on not letting their circumstances dictate how far they can succeed. The visuals are rather cinematic, again something that the likes of Scorcher is no stranger to having appeared as Hoodz in a leading role in independent film The Intent. Davinche and The Movement trio are seen in the music video driving around in a car looking attentive if not a bit restless, seemingly on a job which only ends in tragedy. Sam Sure appears at the end of the video with soulful vocals, as the four guys in the car seem to have met their maker! Check out the video below and tell us what you think in the comments section.
