INTRODUCING MESSYMOUF – INDEPENDENT LABEL

As a multi-media company ourselves, at Death Kiss Media we respect the independent grind of artists and labels. Tech N9ne, founder of Strange Music along with business partner and CEO Travis O’Guin, have established themselves as a powerhouse independent label, running since 1999 to the present where they now have a roster featuring some huge talent. A big part of their success alongside the music is touring and merchandise.
E-40 has been active over at Sick Wid It Records, a mainstay in the underground and mainstream Hip Hop scene, he has released 27 studio albums to date. Top Dawg Ent, owned by CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and Dave “Miyatola” Free and Terrence “Punch” Henderson (Co-Presidents), has taken it to a next level. TDE is home to Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and more.
Closer to home, the UK’s Grime scene is the healthiest it has been, Skepta and Boy Better Know are a independent record label as well as a collective. More recently, Stormzy made is to #1 on the UK Albums Chart with his new album Gang Signs & Prayer. The Godfather of Grime, Wiley, has run his own record labels and music management company, set up a clothing line, online record shop and is creator of Eskimo Dance, over the years.

To3To3 Meesymouf

Messymouf is a label and outfit specialising in Grime and Hip Hop, coming from Derby, and consisting of To3To3, real name Steve Godiff, and Kurtis ‘Vigilant’ Robinson, a freestyle and rap battle league champion. To3To3 is also owner of media channel Bars On Demand. The pair were featured in the Derby Telegraph earlier this year, where they cited influences such as Eminem, Rakim, Wiley and Dizzee Rascal to even Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Boyz II Men or Metallica.
Vigilant has established himself as a rap battler over the years, with To3To3 mixing and track editing songs, but he also emcee’s himself, having developed over 30 delivery patterns over the years, being influenced by the likes of Tech N9ne and their diversity. That is where To3To3’s connection to beat may see him vocal anything from Grime or Hip Hop to Bassline and even singing sometimes, never setting limitations and always tying to be diverse and eclectic.
“Bringing new beats and bars to Derby”, To3To3 uploads hooks/choruses to the MME Youtube which are free to use, and is his way of giving back to the people that have supported what he is trying to achieve.

As well as having the Messymouf Entertainment Youtube, producing their own videos, the website messymouf.co.uk where any one supporting the cause can purchase official MME clothing, including T-Shirts, Hoodies, and their own Messymouf snapbacks, both two tone and classic snapback with leather peak, both from Yupoong.
Messymouf Entertainment have built up a foundation on which they can become a powerhouse independent label based in the UK. Just like Tech N9ne’s Strange Music, all of the music and video production is done in-house, and MME are just getting in to the clothing, which is part of merchandising. Connecting with and giving back to the fans and supporters via free downloads and offers of custom snapback hats is a great way of interacting.
Quoting Messymouf themselves, “the best way to get noticed is by word of mouf”, so check out the website below and spread the word. #WordOfMouf
