“Lost Love” EP is the highly anticipated debut release from Solemn, featuring four high quality instrumentals. Released via Audiofield, A hybrid collection of beats influenced by Grime and Trap, the beats are bass-heavy, with ‘Lost Love’ and ‘White Knight’, both booming, melodic beats laden with trapesque percussion. ‘Lost Love’ has an eerie, almost mournful sound to it, like mourning the death of love. ‘White Knight’ is just a thunderous, almost war-like production.
‘Death Star’ is another eerie, yet ambient, instrumental with a space-like, sci-fi theme, and a sombre mood to it. The use of wind instruments is a brilliant addition to the beat that gives it that depth and dynamic. ‘Lizzie’ is laden with almost hypnotic chimes, and has an air of danger about it. Featuring intense, reverberating bass and skippy percussion, is as gritty as they come on the EP.
