THEMES is the latest, the legendary collection of conceptual instrumentals, put together in to an EP of seven tracks, by Akira The Don. Created at the Don Studios in Downtown Los Angeles, Akira rises, like a pheonix from ashes, with this fire project, sampling some of Akira’s favourite TV shows. It includes remakes of Naruto, with tribal sounds creating a Japanese, war-like feel to an up-tempo, trap-influenced, bass-heavy mix of infectious whistles, synths and percussion.

The other new remake includes a trap refix of the Game Of Thrones theme music, with a epic, gladiator-like vibe. Some other great remakes on this remastered THEMES project include the Twin Peaks theme, ambient and spacious in sound, creating a mysterious feel of which you can just envision the mountains reaching high beyond grey, misty clouds. There is also a certain coldness and darkness to it.

Akira’s Westworld theme starts off with melodic piano keys and record pops, before transitioning in to an electronic, trap-heavy, synth-laden production, fast-paced, and has touches of a futuristic western sound to it. A second Twin Peaks theme was released previously on Akira The Don’s GOTHWAVE EP as the Stranger Things remake. Heart-beating, ambient and electronic, yet again this creates an eerie feel. The final remix on the EP is Akira’s Ghost In The Shell Theme (Making Of Cyborg), and is a terrifyingly, heavy-hitting trap beat, pounding, thumping, stomping…. a beast of a trap beat from Akira The Don, yet fused with electronic music.

More recently, Akira The Don also released his remake of the Blade Runner Theme. Dark, eerie and staying faithful to such as themes as neo-noir, science-fiction, the mystery and futuristic nature of the film, not only how it looks but how it sounds, is evident in listening to the remake.
