Kemi Sulola returns with a glorious new single simply entitled ‘IF’, which continues to introduce her soul-infused sound to the globe. ‘IF’ is produced by Brighton musician, DJ and producer El Train, who has worked with Pip Millet, Barney The Artist, IYAMAH and Jerome Thomas to name a few, and provides Kemi with a Jazz-infused, melodious production, layered with various instruments that all combine for a warm, nostalgic vibe. Kemi displays her astounding singing abilities with a UK R&B masterclass, delivering infectious vocals that glide seamlessly over the bouncy synths, effortlessly showing us her signature lush melodies and vocal harmonies. ‘IF’ pays homage to the golden era of 90’s R&B, but with a contemporary twist.

Kemi Sulola was born and raised in East London, and has most definitely made herself known in the UK R&B/Soul scene throughout her musical journey so far. Kemi has had co-signs from the likes of Capital Xtra, DJ Target, Emeli Sandé and Janet Jackson. She has also performed alongside notable artists such as PJ Morton, Teedra Moses and Stormzy at their live shows.

Impressively, Kemi has won community awards for her music, hosted her own sold out events, taught and trained both children and adults in music and songwriting, as well as collaborated with many other artists both locally and internationally. These include her work with the Soulfest Collective based in Canada, and other independent artists she has worked with in America and other parts of the world.

Kemi’s sound is reminiscent of and takes inspiration from the likes Solange and Nao, and can be described as R&B/Soul mixed with elements of Hip Hop, Jazz and Reggae. Kemi is now prepared to end the year with a bang, giving us this refined and delicate, vivacious single ‘IF’, placing her in any conversation about artists to keep an eye on in the foreseeable future.
