Grime Clash Channel Words Are Weapons recently presented their newest clash between two respected MC’s by the crowd, Leeds MC Crawler and Manchester’s Xtra, both of whom bought their A-Game in this clash with a battle of the jokes. Xtra kicked things off on Faze Miyake’s “Gun Powder” instrumental, straight away going for mum jokes, even throwing in dutty jokes about his opponent’s grandma, commenting on Crawler’s ethnic origin, and showcasing superb delivery. Crawler rips up the beat as well, lyrically strong but I don’t really catch much of what he says, but what he does manage to get in is as potent as Xtra. Xtra has another chance and ribs Crawler’s appearance and killing it some more. Crawler does bring it back though with some crazy rhyme style, seeming to take the piss out of Xtra.

Round 2, Instrumental: Faze Miyake – Take Off. Xtra had a poorer round especially at the start, Crawler pulled it back, but both carried on the war of one liners, both emcee’s still on a hype ting. I would give this round to Crawler though who got the crowd hyped up with a few jokes about Xtra’s girlfriend. Round 3 saw both as strong as each other in my opinion, Xtra addressing Crawler’s Youtube presence, whilst Crawler hit his opponent with some crazy delivery and more sick bars.

Crawler went away with this one, unfair on Xtra, as both performed superbly, energetic, crazy clash which saw both emcee’s in a battle of the one-liners, jokes, and at the end of the day both deserved to win. Check it out and let us know who you thought was the better emcee . . .
