Hot off of just releasing their new album, Grime collective Rascals joined Kan D Man and DJ Limelight on the BBC Asian Network for an epic session, taking a different approach. Rascals come with an acoustic session, performing “Memories” from their album “Class 90” Volume 1. Kay Willz adds the soulfulness to the brilliant performance on the hook, singing amazingly and wonderfully, whilst Shizz, Merkz and Tempz rhyme about some of their memories, bringing pain and sadness in to the mix, some of the bars going as deep as to talk about lost ones. The other half of the show sees all artists spit over a Trap beat, and Kay also sings comfortably, the others spitting sick bars, rapid flow. This is one of the best performances I’ve seen this year, especially on any UK urban radio show, Rascals are so diverse which makes them so brilliant.
