Scottish Hip Hop duo release a brand new track featuring southerner Mr. Melta entitled Vintage Kings. Taken from the forthcoming Speech Syndicate album, Vintage Kings is a dark rap song, with some gritty, hauntingly imaginative and dare I say sci-fi/medieval style lyricism. Kevy Boy, Ill Az and Melta all go in hard with the rhymes, with confident, smooth flows over an eerie, melodic, piano/harp/string led instrumental, featuring a pounding kick drum and authentic boom bap style percussion (produced by Normalz). The three rappers show that rap lyrics don’t have to be about guns, shottin, bling and swagger, proving themselves to be competent and creative writers. Vintage Kings is a lesson in lyricism, flows and the art of original rap. Speech Syndicate and Mr. Melta’s track would not sound out of place on a Strange Music album, UK can stand proud with this banger, that is not your average UK Hip Hop.
