UK rapper Just Josh drops a slick film like video for his brand new track entitled ’50/50′. Just Josh raps over an epic, detuned, sawing bass driven, string laden instrumental, with booming kicks and trap style percussion. The inspired young Josh gets deep on the track, using the track to in part, boast of his talents, but also taking a swipe at the haters, lamenting the shady music industry and questioning his desire to make it in such a world. The chorus nicely sums up his feelings, being in a “50/50” conundrum, and ultimately coming to the conclusion that his talent has made music one the only options for him. Josh flows effortlessly over the track dropping some great punchlines and displaying his creative writing skills, connecting with the instrumental with conscious lyricism, thoughtful and yet motivational with a certain sadness of which provokes feelings and thoughts within the listener. Josh flows seamlessly with excellent delivery and strikes gold once again with another good written hook which I can’t help but think makes this song a stand-up anthem for those who can relate.
