North West London rapper Dpart hooked up with J Lynch and SBTV to release a brand new video for song “A Million Views”. The track taken from Dpart’s upcoming project ‘The Dparture Lounge’, sees the duo lace Pinero Beats instrumental “The Overdose” with some epic lyricism, engulfed in realism, stark truths and deep thoughts and taking a side swiping satirical edge at the industry and generic rappers. The chorus, sung with a smooth, soulful tone sums up the tracks message about some rappers being obsessed with getting a million views. The verses are superbly written, with Dpart and J Lynch breaking down their view of fake artists in the scene not connected emotionally with the music they release, wannabe gangster rappers, and those in the game more concerned with image. Both rappers kill it with the flow, attacking the beat with raw feeling which works really well with the chilled vibe of the tune. “A Million Views” is a deep track with an underlying message for the masses, and the video (wonderfully shot, filmed at a London art gallery) also provides a subliminal message maybe… It’s more about the art form than the image or status, Dpart and J Lynch have what matters most locked on, and the track serves as evidence that they are two of the countries most creatively potent urban artists.
