Dpart & Porcz – The Shutdown
North West London’s Grime/Hip Hop artist Dpart teams up with fellow MC Porcz for a new mixtape entitled “The Shutdown” hosted by Flirta D. Featuring a minimal 10 tracks, the project is satisfactory nevertheless with much quality music. The tape which doesn’t see both artists stick to one genre, taking on Grime and Hip Hop, although most of the production leans more towards Trap. Both Dpart and Porcz showcase incredible flows, fast-paced, rapid delivery, 2Shutdown” the opening track features Flirta D along with the duo as they go in with sick lyricism, Dpart fancying himself as wordsmith, as well showcasing flawless delivery with rapid fire, Porcz drops dutty bars and Flirta D just fuels the hype on the track even more, not to mention the crazy adlibbing.
“Impossible” is the familiar notion of achieving the impossible, turning your dreams in to reality, from living life hard when you have next to nothing to get you up and motivated, making nothing something out of nothing, to achieve your music dreams, and obtaining riches along the way. Porcz and Dpart go in with meandering flows, drawing from experiences and feelings of emotion in their lyricism. “Put In On Repeat” is an excellent production which samples “It’s A Shame”, Dpart and Porcz chopping it up effortlessly on the catchy rhythmic Hip Hop beat, demanding you to take the track and put it on repeat, with hot flows and hot bars, I’ll definitely putting this banger on repeat, a feel good vibe to this one.
The last two tracks see Dpart and Porcz throw on a solo effort apiece, Porcz’ track entitled “Spoken Rhymes”, featuring him dropping intricate bars, speaking on being born to rhyme from since he was born, and goes in with well-thought out bars which you have to sit down to cipher to get the ture meaning of them. Lyrically he destroys this Hip Hop beat. “Buyout” by Dpart is a diss to anyone that buys views to gain quick fame, or fronting like they are the next big thing. Dpart states how they must fear real talent taking over from them, rhyming about how if the fans really like your music you won’t have a problem with trying to sell your music or getting it heard. Dpart really drops some bombs, some truths, distancing him from those that buy views, opting to grind and work hard for real views.
“The Shutdown” mixtape is well worth the download, with some grimey tracks, lyrical Hip Hop and banging Trap tunes, Dpart and Porcz served up a brilliant, entertaining mixtape which they shutdown with amazing lyricism, insane flow and delivery, and explosive production.
