UK rapper AD64 hooks up with Link Up TV to bring you the visuals for his latest remix/cover entitled “Besfrien”. AD64 spits deep, emotive lyrics over 2Pac’s Dear Mama instrumental. The London rapper reminisces about growing up, going through stages of his childhood from a young one, through to teenage years speaking of the innocuous mischief him and his “Besfrien” used to get in to. AD64 spits about fond memories of kickin it with his friend as well as not so pleasant incidents like being injured backing him in a fight. AD64’s tale leads right up to the present where his friend sadly chooses the wrong path getting in trouble and being jailed for 5 years. AD64 speaks of his best friend still being dear to him, hoping that he’ll send a visiting order and looking forward to his release. AD shows real maturity as an artist, with real story telling writing skills that a wide audience can relate to and commiserate with. The chorus is a deep one, delivered almost like the late great Pac himself, relaxed and calm, letting the rappers feelings seep into the music. Link up TV work wonders on the visuals, using actors to play AD64 and his friend as children, switching between black and white shots of their past, cutting back to shots of AD rapping from various angles in almost dream like camera transitions and movement. The visuals capture the emotion in the track perfectly, giving a great remix a slick professional feel. Good stuff from an potentially huge artist.
