Courtney Bennett returns with a gorgeous cover of a British RnB classic, taking on Craig David’s fill me in. Courtney took inspiration from a Duncan Gerow soundcloud cover and recorded her own version over a laid back ambiently melodic rnb working produced by Evil Needle. Ms Bennett does what she does best, making the song her own layering harmonised vocals in her captivatingly charming style. This version of Fill Me In feels softer around the edges, although the same tempo wise, the track feels like a slowed down version, a real slice of modern smooth soul. It’s a nice twist on an old school RnB/UK Garage number, with a refreshingly sweet tone to Ms Bennett’s voice, capturing the vibe of the saunteringly sultry instrumental, she once again proves her versatility and knack for owning covers. Anybody who had never heard this song before would assume its an original. That’s what makes Courtney such a unique artist and immensely talented singer.
