Matty P Introducing

Matty_P_Introducing-front-large

Mansfield Rapper Matty P recently released a brand new project via datpiff, the “Introducing” demo/ep, which features 5 solid tracks that fit in to the Hip Hop genre as well as Electronic Dance Music genre, for instance the opening track “Three Two One” which features Matty on the Electronic Hip Hop beat, rhyming kicking smooth punchlines in his lyrics, with laid back flow over the piano-led production. Matty P showcases some good song-writing in “Change You” and “Died In Your Arms”, the latter being the stronger of the two, sampling Cutting Crew as he rhymes about a break-up of a relationship that’s on the rocks, going through some of the emotions that both sets of parties may feel, although he shows no remorse. Matty P also includes his Michael Jordan Freestyle, in which he drops some creative punchlines, over a hard-hitting Hip Hop beat.

Overall, Matty P has great lyrical content, but his flow and delivery leaves a lot to be desired, with room for improvement, whilst on the first track of the mixtape “Three Two One”, the flow seems to work a bit as he keeps on beat, you go to his freestyle in which he seems to be sticking to the beat too much, and I feel like he needs to let loose, as for the rest of the songs, they just seem sloppy flow-wise, and the recording which can be overcome, such as the levels of the beats,

For an introduction to Matty P, and it being a demo, Matty can build on this with the feedback he receives, and there is no reason why he can’t come back stronger next project. Download for free from datpiff, and leave us your feedback below in the comments section . . .
