Words Are Weapons hosted a unique Grime Clash from Leeds recently, with a Tag Team style, four way Grime Clash between HighLife MC’s Strika and Manikye from Manchester and Leejay and CY from Bradford. Leejay and CY kicked the clash off, Leejay spitting some head spinning bars, ferocious delivery, referring to facial features and stating that they will flop in the next year. Strika countered him with with some sick punchlines, accusing Leejay of not having to pay to clash on his bday, dragging up some disgusting bars about his mum, and laying down some embarrassing bars that draw some laughs. CY gets in on the already fiery clash, going on crazy playing on Strika’s name with some creative lyrics, stating that Strika’s a ghost writer, calling both Strika and Manikye tramps, squaring up to Manikye who stepped in, all confident that he has won the clash before anyone turns up. Round 2 saw CY spit rapid bars, lyrically lighting the competition up, both drawing for some mum jokes, Leejay parring off HighLife with accusations of begging it from Blizzard. Round 3 saw CY and Leejay go back to back on a hard hitting Grime beat, with effortless flow, easily winning the last round with excellent delivery alone, but Strika went in on CY towards the end of bars aimed at his weight, as well as getting abused. In my opinion, Strika seemed the strongest out him and his partner, but due to Manikye not on par, I would have to give the win to Leejay and CY.
