Nottingham Born Artist Badz drops his mixtape entitled ‘Blue Water’, released by YoungNCrudded Entertainment™. The mixtape features original Trap and Hip Hop production from JMBeatz and Don Fernz, as well as remixes of Jah Vinci’s ‘Wipe Those Tears’, and remix of Drake’s ‘Pound Cake’. A times, the mixtape features some wavey Trap production, with Badz spitting lyrical content about smoking weed, like on ‘Mrs Green’, or partying and drinking on the likes of ‘Wavey Weekend’ and ‘Party Like A Yardie’, the latter featuring singer Lili on the hook, bringing an RnB vibe to the track. Tracks like ‘Memory Lane’ or ‘Pound Cake’ feature deep, reminiscent lyricism from Badz, as he ponders on his life, from his early years to the present, getting in to all types of trouble. ‘Blue Water’ is a particular favourite of mine, a calm, laid back Trap banger, the title track, and features Badz dropping laid back, wavey delivered bars as well as on the hook, spitting about staying wavey, smoking weed, dealing with the feds daily, whilst grinding and getting money. Badz captures the essence or the vibe of the track in his delivery, whether it is laid back, zoning out music, party anthems or deep, thoughtful tracks that deal with the pain and sadness in Badz’ life. You then have tracks like ‘Survival’, ‘Red Rum’, ‘Dirty Money’ or ‘Do Or Die’ which take the Trap production and turn it up, Badz and co including Litz, SMG and more rhyming about the Trap life, from shady hustles, to looking out for themselves and their crew only, trying to avoid the law or death.
