UK Urban RnB-Rap duo Before She Calls have recently revealed the release date for their official debut 0SEVEN9 EP on November 21st. The five track EP features a fresh blend of smooth urban vibes and Hip Hop sounds. 0SEVEN9 is the the title track and the single from the EP, featuring the Birmingham pair Harry Hudson and Matt J Owen collaborating on a chugging, mesmerising and hypnotic hip hop production, with Harry’s rhythmic singing vocals and Matt’s rap verses giving the song more depth. An up-beat RnB/Pop song to say the least, the lyrics are about them hooking up with a woman who has been watching them for some time, from the timeline to the nightclub like the setting of the video depicting nightlife.
The duo have already gained recognition, with airplay on BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester, and they proceeded to play live at the BBC Introducing stage at this years Lakefest festival, which was a “dynamic and energetic” show that was well received. As well as their new EP featuring some up and coming artists from Birmingham’s RnB vocalist Candy in “The World” to South London female rapper Sharna Cane in “Poetry”, the guys will be collaborating with Birmingham Producer Urban Monk on a follow up EP release and are set for a UK tour. With comparisons to The Weeknd, Wretch 32, Example and WSTRN, it seems there is a niche in the music scene that these guys can capitalise on, possibly be the next big act coming out of the UK.
