Grime DJ Vectra has recently took to his soundcloud to release many of the tracks taken from legendary Grime crew SLK’s “The Lost Tapes” from a couple of years ago. The crew which consisted of Flirta D, one of the innovators and ground breaking emcee’s, notorious for his sfx on track, the UK’s version of Larvelle Jones, and many others including Van Damage, Swarvo Lady Envi plus much more all feature on here with some other features, with all tracks taken from around 2005 and onwards, all hidden gems for all fans of old, and something for the new wave of Grime emcee’s to get educated on and take in the early sounds of Grime. Some of my favourite tracks include “Vibez”, “Fighting To Ball”, “Foolish” and “Warpspeed”, on which they shell down bars on some dirty Grime and Bassline, not to mention Flirta’s electrifying voice fx. These are vintage Grime dubs, production by DJ Mondie bringing back the essence of the original Grime sound.
