Dot Rotten – Wrong Places Feat @iAmiLati

Dot Rotten took to his official soundcloud to release a brand new track entitled “Wrong Places” featuring Ilati. Dot Rotten gets deep with the bars over a beautiful, trap/hip hop, piano led instrumental. Dot kicks off proceedings in emotively explosive fashion, stating his finalization with his musical journey, almost signing out on his fans, seemingly being tired of the bs his status and name carried from the foray into rap. Dot kind of contemplates the end of an era. Speaking as an artist who has been there, done it all and sold the t-shirts to boot, Dot runs through the stages of his career, using his wordplay to debate with himself almost about what’s next for him. Dot talks about his next and possibly last album being the one that “saves him”, questioning whether the industry has changed him as a person, feeling like he had been blocked in certain avenues, having the right music in the wrong places and being done with it all. The chorus, delivered by Ilati is sung sweetly and with real sentiment summing up the vibe of the tune, invoking real passion and feeling. One thing is certain should his new project be a swan song or just a metaphor for the end of a chapter in his career, Mr Rotten is a legend, opening doors for others and will leave a great artistic whole in the UK urban music scene. Shame if it is, but maybe people were not ready for his greatness, his legacy and work setting up Minarmy will pave the way for generations of future UK talent. Big tune!
