Two East London Grime veterans DPower Diesle and Footsie both came together recently for an aptly named track ‘Shelly’ released through DPower’s E.B Records, and is produced by Footsie. Both emcee’s spray quick-fire, braggadocio bars, bringing out the lyrical artillery on a heavyweight, bass-heavy grime beat, shelling the beat with excellent flows and delivery. DPower and Footsie have left us another grime banger, but who’s gonna pick up the casings!
D Power says, “Shelly’ is about having the hardest lyrics and being able to last ANY clash, but also having bars that can buss up a club! That’s our aim for this track right here.”
DPower has a built a legacy in the Grime scene, playing a crucial role in the creation of some of the biggest and pioneering Grime crews such as Boy Better Know, Nasty Crew, Roll Deep and More Fire Crew and to top it off, he created the DeJa Vu radio station, one of the Grime scene’s leading radio stations. DPower’s latest venture has seen him launch his own label, keeping the focus on the homegrown music and to showcase the range of talent that we have to offer right here in Britain.
The video for Shelly, supported by Deezer,is directed by Shan Brown, filmed in derelict, war-torn settings, gritty and grungy, perfect environment for the shelling that DPower and Footsie partake in.
