The #EastMannaMan known as Eklipse is back with a new EP “The Haze Cassette”, which follows on from Eklipse’s successful Youtube view count of the East Manna Man video, hitting 20,000 views on SBTV. Released last month on 4/20 for free download, the project is based around the theme of smoking, and the production, which stretches from Hip Hop and Trap to Reggae even, helps set the mood for a relaxing experience, whether you smoke yourself while listening or not. ‘Inhale, Exhale’ starts off ambientEklispe introduces his unique and distinctive vocal style, which is dark and gruff, dropping rhymes on a trapesque beat laden with some rock-style guitar riffs. ‘All Day’ features Eklipse and co spraying rather energetic flows on a Reggae-influenced instrumental, the second of two instrumentals produced by Wondz, and also features singer Lily Kiing, and mc’s SGT Static and Dubz D, the three rappers. ‘Wave Right Now’ like ‘Inhale, Exhale’ and the majority of the EP’s production is laid back, melancholy and atmospheric, and features lyrics from Eklipse that often point to stress as one of many reasons for him to smoke, relieving the pressures of the day and to enjoy the high. Lily Kiing features on yet another track produced by High Frequency, called ‘Smoke With You’. The two vocalists take to a sauntering, wavey Hip Hop beat, Lily providing soulful vocals that are reminiscent of the likes of Amy Winehouse, lethargic yet harmonious. Eklipse’s lyrics convey the stressful events of a typical day in the bits, trying to earn a wage and get paid via any means necessary. ‘Bad Bitch’ is a bonustrack from Eklipse, exclusive to the EP, produced by Wondz. Eklipse drops rhymes on a dark, bass-laden, thudding trap beat, that convey Eklipse’s yearning for a bad girl that get involved in his escapades or just being there at the end of the day to give him some tlc.
