Fire In The Booth – Vince Staples

US Rapper, one third of Cutthroat Boyz and Odd Future associate, Vince Staples stepped in to the booth on Charlie Sloth’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show to deliver that fire. Vince goes in primarily on a monstrous beat with piercing orchestral instruments produced by Harry Fraud, as he spits explosive lyricism, as he rhymes about wilding out in the early days, expressing his love for females yet hoping his daughter doesn’t turn out the same, and evaluating his success and how far he has come. Charlie Sloth randomly picks another beat for Vince Staples as he just runs with it over a killer trap beat, rhyming his sinful ways, getting real deep, going with a certain flow for the particular beat. The flames are turnt up with the final beat, another monstrous, intense production, as he drops one line flows focusing on the hood, how to move correctly in the hood and rhymes about looking out for his past as it catches up with him. Vince Staples goes in with an array of flows as he adapts effortlessly to the change of beats, delivering some nice wordplay particularly in the start.
