Redonda Ent Hip Hop artist Herbal T dropped his latest project recently, “Streets Of Rage”, the SP404 edition, featuring all beats made using the discontinued Roland SP-404 sampling workstation. Themed around the Street Fighter arcade games, the production is raw and gritty, with the title track featuring arcade game style synths, as Herbz drops rhymes packed with metaphors depicting a war-torn world. ‘S N K Bars’ sees Herbal T taking to a beat with a slow rock influence, especially owing to the old school styler guitar riff and thumping drum beat. ‘Loyal Kings’ is a statement of Herbal T’s loyalty to the cause, whatever it may be but ever-lasting. Herbz proves why he may be the king of lyrics on ‘King Of Lyrics’, and ‘Divine Poet In A Storm’ contains philosophical rhymes from Herbal T on an intense, slow, simmering hip hop beat.
