The CEO of UK Rap’s founding crew Mashtown, Hypo, is now back in the game in a big way, with a video for a new track called ‘Buss It Down’ featuring Suspect and Rich The Kid. Representing “that fly sh*t and that new flamboyant wave that everybody wants to be on”, Hypo links up with one of South London’s hardest out, Suspect, and Queens rapper Rich The Kid for an international trap banger produced by The Beat Boss, containing an infectious, catchy hook, and the three rappers deliver melodious flows, flexing about their riches from work and shows which in turn has the women infatuated with them and the lavish lifestyles they lead. A slick visual accompanies the crisp-produced, smooth-flowing, hard hitting track.
All three of these artists are influential and respected in their countries, Suspect being placed alongside the greatest in UK Rap, Giggs for instance, whilst Rich The Kid has worked with Ty Dollar Sign, Migos, Party Next Door and 21 Savage, all on his 2016 ’Trap Talk’ mixtape where he made a name for himself on the US Rap scene. Hypo himself is behind on one of the founding crews of UK Rap, Mashtown, and contributed to, behind the scenes, the making of successful albums by Dappy and J Spades plus more, as well as starting his own publishing company with Emeli Sande. Having focused more on his “business savvy” and “managerial edge” for a number of years,
Hypo hand delivered the new single, taken from forthcoming NH20 mixtape, to Charlie Sloth for premiere when he was live on in the studios of BBC 1Xtra. Now being championed by the original UK Rap master Tim Westwood at Capital Xtra, this UK Rap, trap-influenced single ‘Buss It Down’ will leave fans highly anticipating the new solo project from Hypo, who “true to his business nature”, will “push the sound of UK Rap to the point of no escape”, and with the original crew, Hypo is ready to return to the forefront of the UK Rap scene, stepping up with a new Mashtown album.
