Imma34 – Lego Figures / Humans are Obstacles

UK Hip Hop lyricist Imma34 releases his latest mixtape ‘Lego Figures / Humans are Obstacles’. The mixtape is 34 tracks and displays Imma’s rap style that is sometimes comedic and focuses on grammar and wordsmithery, with Imma also spitting mostly on old skool Hip Hop style beats. Imma34 employs multisyllabic rhyme patterns in his lyrics, seeming to hold the banner for the true Hip Hop art form, with tracks like ‘One Day It May Happen’ and ‘Had Enough’ depicting that notion. Through out the mixtape and many of the tracks, Imma34 expresses his annoyance at the those that are killing the scene. Imma pits his lyrics against a fun boom-bap Hip Hop beat on ‘Travel Sick’, using his words as weapons with great wordplay. Imma offers you to interpret his Hip Hop story on ‘Chandelier Palace’, noting people from all walks of life, delivering contrasting backgrounds on those that aren’t seen at face value it seems. Imma decimates a raw sounding Hip Hop beat with ‘Fuckin’ Munching’, going in with the wordplay. Imma is impressive on his LFHAO freestyles, five to be exact, showing some impeccable skills as a freestyler as he comes across as rapping off the dome, the content sporadic. ‘Chubby Prick’ sees Imma34 defend the Hip Hop scene after Clive Martin investigated and questioned the credibility of the UK Hip Hop scene. Imma34’s unorthodox style is refreshing, and his passion for Hip Hop is admirable, and whilst at times his observations may be confusing it leaves room for much interpretation, but you have to admit that his lyrical skills, his wordplay is astonishing and different from what is out at the moment.
