London-based art-pop trio KYOTI follow up their debut single ‘Cave In’ with their new single ‘Curved Edge Straight Line’ which has already being picked up by Clash and Complex UK, being described as bordering on ‘. . .jazz with its supple-rhythms and laid back vocals’. Also a mix of electronica and jazz, this superb blend of genres also incorporates compelling and thoughtful story-telling as the song explores the theme of dependency on substances and other people. The band states that the single is “. . . about searching for forgiveness from those close to you, while accepting your own faults.” With minimalistic beats, a steady rhythm and laden with synths, this ambient tune will leave you in the abstractness of the ordinary, mundane world that KYOTI, consisting of Benji Huntrods, David Mabbott and Ed Burgon, base their image and artwork on.
