Don’t Flop bring you the latest battle footage taken from their first event of 2014, the recent Raise The Bar show, featuring two London MCs Locksmyth and Bleek. The resulting clash is a highly charged, aggressive match up, where both rappers put their all in, going all out to destroy their opponent. Bleek using his rapid flows and intricate bar structure against Lock’s more direct, less charismatic, yet bullish delivery. It was a close battle in all honesty, but we edge it to Bleek who won the 1^st and 3^rd round, maybe even taking the 2^nd too possibly. Locksmyth went in, and was strongest in round 2, with a scheme about Bleek’s cheating ex. Bleeks 1^st was kicked off in explosive fashion, more energy and a tongue in cheek line about relaxing mid battle for a Zoolander pose, a line about Locksmyth being a back stabber and “setting up Tone”, and a bar about Locksmyth being irrelevant if he’s already burned the yard down. Locksmyth came back hard, with a few funny lines throughout, but you kind of get the feeling the crowd were a little biased, over reacting to many of Locksmyth’s bars, sporting the rappers groups snapbacks and almost trying to not react to Bleeks best lines. Maybe Bleek proved himself to be a better rapper technically, but could do with slowing it down and concentrating on delivering the punchlines with timing for battle rap crowds. Locksmyth’s funniest moments were his crowd participation sing a long hooks. Bleeks 3^rd was his best, mocking Locks nose, a bar about him looking like a half cooked hash brown. Good match up, contrasting styles. Bleek 2-1 or maybe 3-0, but fail to see how Locksmyth was scored 3-0 by three judges out of 4. Strange decision. Check it out and let us know what you think below…
