LOONZOTB – THE GHOST TRAIN
East London is the mecca of the capital’s homegrown Grime Scene, yet South has produced some strong contenders, Stormzy, The Square, Section Boyz in recent years. OGz, Big Narstie came before them, and So Solid Crew were one of the grime founding crews. North London is home to Boy Better Know, Bloodline, Scorcher, Chip and many more. But it is within the last year or two that West London has had huge success. Scrufizzer originates from West LDN and Ice Kid too. The new wave has seen AJ Tracey and GHSTLY taking the scene by storm. More underground than them are Black Crown emcee’s 100K (K Wing) and J Wing, and then there’s West London Grime veteran Warlock.
Many years ago, Warlock put together a song called ‘Grime Train’, a depiction of the grime scene that he likens to the busy underground, waiting for the next train to jump on and ride the it. West London’s very own Royalty Made In London present a video in homage to Warlock’s ‘Grime Train’, with music produced by LOONZOTB.
An idea that Lord Vishnu had in mind for some time, he has captured it at the right moment, and has set out and travelled the country connecting West London’s Grime Scene, that has long been isolated. Filmed by N.studios, the video captures the many London Underground stations across the capital, and the urban cities within, all connecting to West and beyond. There is also a nod to Grime music with a shot of This Is Grime, the book penned by Hattie Collins & Olivia Rose. The snappy editing matches the up-tempo flow of the Garage-influenced Grime instrumental produced by LOONZOTB.
