Multi-talented Manchester musician “Manny Man” Murkz recently returned with an impressive freestyle, along with visuals to match the lyrical content. ‘BadaBoom Freestyle’ comes off the back of a successful summer to say the least, as Murkz’s last release ‘Henny ‘tin’ received support from BBC 1Xtra’s Sian Anderson, plus a 2-page write up in the internationally acclaimed DJ Mag!

Produced by TRC, Murkz tears up a bass-heavy, trapesque beat, equipped with a hypnotic, futuristic, sci-fi melody and percussion, as Murkz delivers energetic-flowing bars, relating to his independent rise, owning his own and owing no-one, boasting of his talent, and dropping some positive advice learnt through experience, all whilst showcasing impeccable wordplay skills.

Since his first rap performance in the school dinner hall aged 14, to owning his first pair of vinyl turntables and a copy of Fruity Loops aged 15, Murkz has established himself as a household name in the Manchester/UK scene. His first major breakthrough in music came as a Grime MC, with numerous clashes, collaborations and sets with some of the best MC’s around, launching his popularity upwards, leading to him being renowned as one of the top MC’s in the North West.

A jack of all trades, Murkz plies his trade in music as an MC, DJ and a producer, with a unique sound which led him to a breakthrough into the UK Bassline scene, which gave birth to the well known Manchester anthem ‘Manny Man’. Such songs including ‘Manny Man’ and ‘Baby Boy’ have over 1 million combined YouTube views. Ministry of Sound awarded Murkz with a release of ‘Manny Man’ on their first ‘Sounds Of Bassline’ compilation CD. A solid run of success in the Bassline scene allowed Murkz to perform across Europe as a DJ/MC and he still regularly performs all over the UK.

Murkz took a lengthy break from music to concentrate on fatherhood, but reconnected with his passion as a rapper and made his return in late 2019. Since his return, Murkz has been consistent, releasing projects that showcase his versatility and unpredictability, and has earned support from major media outlets such as BBC Radio, GRM Daily, Plus 44/Amazon Music, Spotify and Complex UK. There are no boundaries when it comes to genres, whether it’s Grime, Dancehall or Drill, Murkz continues to deliver feel-good music, taking to any genre with comfort and ease, bringing with him his own effective blend of fun and catchy bars, clever lyricism and unique and entertaining personality.
